Aesthetic Medicine and COVID19: What You Should Know

We are living in unprecedented times, and while COVID-19 continues to pose a threat, social distancing and necessary safety measures have helped slow its impact. As of May 18th, Florida is moving to the Full Phase One of the plan to restore our community’s livelihood.
As elective procedures can now resume, our office is open for appointments. Dr. Mark Nowacki and our team at Skin and Body Curvatures are doing our part to protect our community by taking every necessary precaution as we move through the phases of our state’s restorative plan.
If you had to delay an appointment because of COVID-19-related closures, you can now reschedule your appointment. New and prospective patients can schedule consultations for aesthetic treatments, including microneedling, body contouring, and skin tightening. To strengthen awareness and keep our community safe, our experts have put together helpful information you should know as we resume aesthetic treatments.

Office safety

Rest assured that our Skin and Body Curvatures team has and will continue to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and infection prevention. Along with following guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting, we will be taking additional steps to reduce the risk of exposure.
We are minimizing time in waiting areas, limiting visitors, and maintaining a safe office environment. You can expect to find chairs spaced at least 6 feet apart as part of our precautionary steps.

Patient screening

To keep our team and community safe, we are screening all patients prior to visiting our office. If you have an appointment, you can expect to answer some questions. You may be asked to complete a patient screening form, or one of our team members may ask a few questions. The screening questions help safeguard our office and the community.
You can expect to answer questions about any recent travel, symptoms, and whether you’ve had contact with anyone that has tested positive or had symptoms of COVID-19. Patients must complete the screening process before arriving at our office.
Contact your primary care provider if you’re not feeling well or if you have symptoms, such as:

  • Coughing
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Loss of taste
  • Diminished sense of smell
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat

Protective equipment

Our team will have adequate personal protective equipment. When visiting the office, we ask that you arrive wearing a face mask. For the safety of our office, patients will not be allowed to enter without a face mask. We will provide you with a new face mask before you leave the office.

Here’s how you can keep yourself healthy

We want you to feel confident about your first visit back to our office. If you have an aesthetic treatment scheduled, it’s recommended that you self-quarantine three days before your treatment. Here are some other helpful tips:

  • Follow post-procedure care guidelines
  • Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds with soap and water
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Wear a face mask in public
  • Avoid close contact with people who aren’t feeling well
  • Frequently clean and disinfect surfaces in your home

We are taking a slow and steady approach to resuming aesthetic treatments. You can rest assured that our team follows strict guidelines for patient safety and you’re in good hands when you visit our St. Petersburg, Florida office for your aesthetic needs. Call and speak to one of our team members to schedule your consultation with Dr. Nowacki or book your appointment online.
